NYC Manhattan Queens Bronx Staten Island Brooklyn

West Midtown is an urban district in Atlanta, Georgia, just west of Midtown. It is roughly bordered by Howell Mill Road, Marietta Street, Brady Avenue and Tenth Street . However, developments in outlying areas southwest of Buckhead as far North as Bolton are sometimes given West Midtown designation. Areas are often given the designation based on character and location, usually by developers and realtors. Obviously, this is arbitrary and it is unknown at this time whether an official designation will occur and an association will be formed. Interstate 75 (West of Brookwood Hills and Collier Hills) should not be considered a dividing line between Buckhead since Underwood Hills is a part of Buckhead and West of I-75 directly adjacent to the area known as West Midtown. West Midtown should also not be confused with the Historic West End, which is west of downtown and farther south. Finally, it also does not include Atlantic Station, Georgia Tech, and areas directly between them. Those areas are still considered Midtown.

West Midtown features loft-style conversions created from historic warehouses and industrial buildings dating back to the 1880s. Many of the buildings in West Midtown are located next to historic rail lines. Once largely abandoned, West Midtown has seen large amounts of gentrification and infill, with an eclectic mix of new restaurants, shops, art galleries, salons and professional firms. Midtown West is committed to preserving Atlanta's past, as most new developments are restorations of once neglected industrial buildings and historic warehouses. The area is a popular stop for food lovers, with a diverse mix of dining such as 5 Seasons Brewpub, Miller Union, Bocado, West Egg, Yeah Burger, and Figo. Brickworks Atlanta is the largest development in West Midtown, located at 1000 Marietta Street. Westside Urban Market and White Provisions (home to furniture store Room & Board) are two developments that put the area on the map. In addition, with stores like Sid Mashburn, Ann Mashburn and affluent restaurants like JCT Kitchen and Bacchanalia, many residents have ventured out to find the Westside pleasant and inviting. The area has recently seen restoration, with new developments like BrickWorks and White Provisions. It also has gained popularity for the local scene, with Hop City Craft Beer and Wine, Octane Coffee Bar & Lounge, and Ormsby's. Kiang Gallery, Sandler Hudson Gallery, Emily Amy Gallery + 7 additional dynamic art spaces feature monthly art walks, called the West Side Arts District Art Walk.

The Northwest portion of the proposed Beltline light rail is planned to go through this area.

As mentioned, there are no official association for West Midtown at this time as described earlier.
